About The APF Foundation

The Alexander Preston Franklin Charitable Foundation was formed in 2000 after his passing from a tragic farm related accident in Metter, Georgia. He was 13 years old, an honor student, active participant in his church, an Eagle Scout, a gifted athlete in soccer, basketball and baseball, an avid musician playing cello, French Horn and singing in choir, and was enrolled in 2 foreign languages. According to his school principals, Alex was the Golden Boy and he had the charisma to charm a cat out of a tree.

His Foundation continues today and its mission supports organizations and deserving students who share his interests. The Foundation has no overhead whatsoever; 100% of the Foundation’s gifts go directly to charitable organizations and scholarships to high school graduates.

The Foundation’s financial contributions are awarded to recipients in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hartford, Connecticut and Metter, Georgia areas. To date, over $350,000 have been donated and distributed toward worthy causes and individuals.
